How You Can Make an Impact as a Professional in the Community!
The goal of the SBI program is to equip the youth in our community with the knowledge and skills they need to overcome the adversity many may face in their daily lives not only as young people but through adulthood. The goal of the program is to prepare these young people to face these challenges and give them the tools to do so and as a result make positive changes in their lives.
Professional mentors that choose to partner with the SBI program tend to greatly impact the participants of this program by providing support, understanding and guidance these young people may not have available to them.
The SBI Program depends on the Las Vegas business community to supply professional work settings for SBI interns to be placed.
Summer Business Institute Interns are hired and onboarded by Clark County. SBI Interns are paid minimum wage and are covered by Worker's Compensation. Salaries for SBI Interns are covered by Clark County and generous community donors.
Community partners provide:
Meaningful work assignments over an 8-week duration.
An on-site orientation and on-the-job training.
Supervision from a person experienced in the field, who will regularly meet with and provide feedback to the intern.
A structured experience allowing interns to engage in day-to-day workplace activities.
